Set in the high desert and mountain landscapes of Taos, this long weekend retreat invites you to slow down, connect, and create. Led by Liz Dueck and Paitton Kendrick Callery, this nature, art and wellness experience blends nature immersion, mindfulness and expressive art-making into a restorative and inspiring journey.Experiences include:
- Guided hikes in the Taos Ski Valley, Wild Rivers Recreation Area, and Abiquiu Lake.
- Therapeutic art-making sessions and nature-based mindfulness practices at Echo Amphitheater, Blackrock Hot Springs, and around the campfire at HQ.
- Visits to iconic Taos locations such as Taos Plaza, Black Mesa Winery, and the Rio Grande Gorge.Designed for artists, nature lovers and anyone seeking rest balanced with play, each day unfolds across some of the most breathtaking locations in and around Taos. Surrounded by the beauty of Northern New Mexico, participants will explore new ways to regulate stress, deepen self-awareness and expand their creative process - Come join us!

Programming Fee

$950.00

3 scholarships, $200 each, will be available to assist with programming cost on a first come first serve basis

Lodging Details

Bluebird Herb Farm

This year we will be hosting retreat headquarters at a private, classic adobe home in El Prado, New Mexico, located on the north side of Taos. This location features a full-service kitchen, indoor & outdoor lounging areas, & a hot tub!There are 4 private bedrooms available on site, each with a queen bed. These rooms can be reserved for a party of 1 (private package) or party of 2 (shared package). Photos of each bedroom are featured below!

Meet your guides:

Liz Dueck, BFA

Liz is a Nature Artist, Art Educator & Trail Guide. She primarily works with oil paint and natural materials but enjoys expanding her processes to the public through interactive art & community nature art experiences. Her creative practices are all based on exploration & connection, & all begin with adventure. Along with displaying her work in galleries & curating exhibitions, she regularly leads Art Hikes in the Tulsa & Sand Springs area. Dueck’s passion lies in interchangeably connecting art, nature & people together.

Paitton Kendrick Callery, MA, LPC, ATR

Paitton is a Registered Art Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, & Expressive Artist. An Oklahoma girl living in a Colorado world, she currently serves clients all across Colorado via telehealth services. Alongside owning & operating an Art Therapy/Counseling private practice, Paitton is also is an avid advocate for the arts in mental healthcare.
One of Paitton's therapeutic philosophies is that "like an artist in front of a canvas, when we are given the right tools & techniques, we have the opportunity to create something truly unique & wonderful from this colorful, messy life experience".
